How It Works:
When you’re ready to take on the challenge of kayaking and camping along the Na Pali Coast, this extraordinary experience awaits. Let us help you make it unforgettable!
How do we get camping permits?
To camp along the Na Pali Coast, you’ll need permits for Napali Coast State Wilderness Park. These permits can be obtained online through the Hawai‘i Division of State Parks website. Be aware that permits are in high demand, especially during the summer months, and are released 90 days in advance. It’s best to secure your permits as soon as your travel plans are set. You can find more information here: Na Pali Camping Permits.
What kind of gear will we need?
Your kayak acts as your floating backpack, so pack light and focus on essentials. Key items include:
Kayak Kaua‘i also offers rental gear such as tents, sleeping bags, and stoves to simplify your packing. Take a look at this Suggested Gear List.
How rough is the ocean going to be?
Ocean conditions along the Na Pali Coast can be challenging and are influenced by weather and seasonal factors. Paddlers should expect open ocean swells, occasional breaking waves, and wind. Landing and launching kayaks in surf are often required. If you’re prone to seasickness, be prepared with remedies as rough seas can intensify symptoms. Our guides prioritize safety and will adjust the route or timing if conditions become unsafe. Na Pali and Kauai Weather.
Where can we store our luggage and other items?

Kayak camping along the Na Pali Coast is rated as very strenuous. Participants must be in excellent physical condition, comfortable in the water, and prepared for multiple hours of paddling, including landings through surf. This tour is not for those unfamiliar with physically demanding outdoor activities.
Is this tour suitable for kids?
Sea kayak tours are limited to participants 16 and older. Exceptions may be made with approval from our Head Guide. Younger adventurers are welcome to join us on one of our family-friendly river tours.
Are meals provided, or do we bring our own food?
